TOPOCK – Two of the three suspects charged in a more than two-year-old double homicide in Colorado are in custody in Kingman. Toni Gurule, 43, and Suzzette Salyer, 42, were arrested following a June 1 standoff with local law enforcement authorities in the Colorado River community of Topock.
The sheriff’s office in Fremont County Colorado said that Gurule, Salyer and Anthony Fogle, 45, all of Freemont County, were indicted in late April for two counts each of kidnapping and first-degree murder. The charges stem from the Feb., 2022 discovery of the bodies of Ryan Roth, 25, and Rodolfo Santillan-Reyes, 36, in an area known as Phantom Canyon.
Fremont County officials have not indicated how the victims were killed.
Colorado authorities indicated that Fogle was notified of the additional charges when served May 5, while already in federal custody for separate drug and weapon related charges.
Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the Mohave County Sheriff’s deployed a SWAT team when advised the suspect’s vehicle was located at a Topock residence in the 4700 block of Pinta Dr.
“Commands were given via PA system for the suspects to exit the residence,” Mortensen said. “Chemical agents were deployed into the residence.”
Mortensen said Gurule exited first and that Salyer did the same after a second round of chemical agents were introduced. She said no one else was in the residence, and she had no information how long the suspects had been in the Topock community.
Gurule and Salyer were transported to Kingman following their arrests. They were booked into the Adult Detention Center where they’re held pending extradition and return to Colorado for prosecution.
