Desert rescue ends well

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 12:01 pm on Tuesday, March 26, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department was dispatched to a desert rescue at Sara Park.  A male hiker was reported to be experiencing a heat-related injury and in need of assistance. Two Engine Companies, Two Rescue side-by-sides, an ambulance, and a Battalion Chief responded to Sara Park and were able to locate the injured person within 36 minutes.

The patient was treated immediately while on the trail and was extricated from the desert using the Rescue side-by-sides. The patient was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. There were no reported injuries to firefighters.
