Aquarius to host 9th Annual ‘Feed A Family’ charity initiative

LAUGHLIN, Nev. – Aquarius Casino Resort and Edgewater Casino Resort, will host the 9th annual ‘Feed A Family’ charitable initiative, which will run Sunday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 20.

The annual Feed A Family program helps provide boxes of food to families through partnerships with local food pantries in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas. For every 25,000 True Rewards points contributed or $25 donated, Aquarius and Edgewater properties will purchase one food box sized to feed a family of four. Each box includes a seven-pound ham or 12-pound turkey along with potatoes, gravy, vegetables, rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pie and whipped cream.

To participate in the program, True Rewards members may contribute any amount of points or monetary donations, all of which are allocated towards the purchase of food items to be included in a box.

Both Aquarius and Edgewater will also host the 9th annual Christmas tree silent auction to benefit Feed A Family. Beginning on Friday, Nov. 27, the properties will decorate and display 16 Christmas trees adorned with hundreds of ornaments and individual themes, which include: Noah’s Arc animals; Santa’s workshop; woodland forest; white Christmas; woodland forest; sports; America; and more. Bids will start at $300 per tree and increases may be made in increments of $25 or more. Trees may also be purchased outright for $1,750 each. Guests may make a bid at any time at the Aquarius and Edgewater True Rewards centers, respectively.

Since the program began in 2012, Aquarius and Edgewater have fed more than 10,000 families. Participating food pantries include Colorado River Food Bank, Food for Families, Isabel’s Pantry, Caring Hearts Food Ministry, Inc., Kingman Food Bank, Havasu Community Health Foundation Food Bank, Cornerstone Mission, Set Free Church, Nana’s Pantry, Women’s Club of Needles and United Methodist.
