Furrow gets probation, community service in drug case

The first of five defendants charged through an investigation of suspected drug sales from a home in Bullhead City avoided further jail time during a March 28 sentencing hearing in Kingman Thursday. Michael Furrow, 35, was placed on probation for 18 months and ordered to perform 60 hours of community work service.

Furrow was initially charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia when he and four others were arrested when police executed a search warrant on December, 28, 2018 at a home in the 700 block of River Gardens Drive. Furrow was convicted of the paraphernalia charge through a plea agreement.

Defense attorney Christopher Donnis said Furrow recognizes he has a drug addiction problem. He said Furrow cooperated with authorities from the onset of his arrest and wanted to resolve his case through a plea deal so he can get counseling and treatment.

Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle credited Furrow for the two days spent in custody following his arrest and decided that no further jail time was necessary.

Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said in January that narcotics task force officers had been monitoring the home for several months prior to the late December raid. The search netted seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Others arrested on various drug related charges include Christy Ann Tyler, 40, Carol Ann Rusk, 55, Terry Dean Fowler, 62, and Dama Arlen Lofflin, 38.
