Davis Camp upgrades approved

BULLHEAD CITY – Additional American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expenditures approved during Monday’s Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. Supervisor Hildy Angius gained swift approval for proposed allocations to improve the county-owned and operated Davis Camp Park on the north end of Bullhead City.

Angius is committing more than $2.1 million of the $8 million in ARPA funds allotted to District 2 for the park that sometimes hosts 28,000 people during peak summertime visitation. “I’m glad that we’re going to be addressing some of these issues that have been plaguing Davis Camp for many years,” Angius said.

$1.86 million is earmarked for a range of infrastructure repair and maintenance and amenity enhancement. “The funds will be used for new ramadas, renovating existing ramadas, new picnic tables, new grills, replacing a dock, miscellaneous concrete work, replacing a boat ramp, renovating vacation homes, replacing a basketball court, various painting projects, and renovating shower houses and bathrooms,” according to backup materials from the Board meeting.

Angius was also granted Board approval to spend another $286,000 for the upgrade of a dilapidated water line. About 1,800 feet of 8’’ PVC waterline and a network of valves and service connections will be replaced.
