Mohave Valley drug dealer going to prison

MOHAVE VALLEY – A Mohave Valley woman is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections for selling drugs and probation violations. An eight-year prison term is stipulated in the plea agreement entered Thursday, Nov. 19 for Melissa Lane, 44.

Lane was on probation for separate burglary and drug paraphernalia convictions in 2018 and 2019 when she was arrested for drug offenses on Sept. 3. Deputy Mohave County attorney Cameron Patt told the Court that Lane was a backseat passenger in a vehicle that was the subject of a traffic stop at Highway 95 and East Boundary Cone Road.

Patt said Lane was detained due to an outstanding arrest warrant. He said a search of a bag she possessed netted seizure of more than 9 grams of heroin.

Scales and other indicia were confiscated, including a ledger and cell phone revealing drug transaction activity. Judge Billy Sipe scheduled a Dec. 21 sentencing hearing for Lane.
