LHC Parks and Recreation summer camp registration underway

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Sunshine Summer Camp begins Monday June 8t for children entering first through sixth grade. This year’s camp environment stresses the importance of safety for all of our participants, staff and families.

It is our goal to create an environment focused on protocols that protect everyone who participates in Sunshine Summer Camp. These modifications include, but are not limited to, separating participants into smaller groups, additional cleaning and handwashing schedules, spread out areas to check-in and check-out of participants, and limiting the total number of participants served, so staff can maintain small groups as advised by the CDC and AZDHS.

For those who are interested, registration takes place online only, beginning Monday June 1 at 7:00 a.m. The limited number of participants allows staff to follow CDC guidelines.

Camp is held at Jamaica, Nautilus or Smoketree Elementary Schools. This year’s fee is $246 for the first participant and $192 for each additional participant in the same family. Scholarships are available, but those arrangements need to be made prior to May 29 by calling Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation at 928-453-8686.

For more information on Sunshine Summer Camp and the new safety guidelines, please visit the Lake Havasu City website at www.lhcaz.gov.
