BULLHEAD CITY – On Thursday, September 19, Mohave Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MEC) held its Annual Meeting at the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse. The annual meeting was attended by 572 Cooperative members as well as guests – the largest attended meeting to date. MEC members received a travel bag kit, and some lucky winners won great door prizes and power credits.
The annual event, as mandated by the Cooperative’s bylaws, introduced the MEC board members and allowed members to vote on a new bylaw.
BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City police report the arrest of a student who perpetrated a hoax in an effort to get a day away from school.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – Arizona State University will add a tuition surcharge for on-campus students in spring 2025 and the Arizona Teachers Academy faces an uncertain future, the result of recent budget cuts passed by the state Legislature and signed by the governor.
MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College hosted it’s 5th Grade Academy with Mohave Accelerated Learning Center (MALC).
Fifth grade students from MALC visited MCC’s Bullhead campus Tuesday to learn about the various programs at MCC. Students got to tour Auto Service and Auto Collision Programs, Welding, HVAC, Dental, Nursing and much more. Students were able to make Pico de Gallo with the Culinary program for parent night at their school.
