Zoning Ordinance Update Community Workshop set

KINGMAN – Lisa Wise Consulting, Inc. (LWC) has been selected by the City of Kingman to review, evaluate, provide recommendations, and update the city’s Zoning Ordinance. The estimated schedule assumes this work will be completed by December 2020.

City staff has been working with LWC since early July 2019 on the initial stakeholder interviews and initial audit of the current Zoning Ordinance with recommendations for the updated Zoning Ordinance. The next phase of the Zoning Ordinance update project includes public participation.

Effective public participation in any planning process creates confidence in the given project, promotes public awareness and understanding, and ensures community interests and needs are adequately addressed throughout the process. An interactive relationship among city staff, supporting experts, decisionmakers, interested parties, the community, and LWC helps lead to overall project success.

The City of Kingman and LWC would like to invite the public to a Zoning Ordinance Update Community Workshop to participate in this project. LWC will introduce the Zoning Ordinance update project, discuss key challenges with existing regulations, confirm the General Plan’s direction, and present recommendations for a new regulatory framework.

The City of Kingman Zoning Ordinance Update Community Workshop date is Wednesday, September 19, at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 310 N. Fourth St. If you have any questions related to this Community Workshop, please contact Sylvia Shaffer at 928-753-8131 or sshaffer@cityofkingman.gov or Rich Ruggles at 928-753-8160 or rruggles@cityofkingman.gov.
