KINGMAN – The City of Kingman’s Youth Advisory Council (KYAC) is once again giving back this holiday season through its Second Annual Bedding and Coat & Hoodie Drive by supporting local families and children in need throughout the Kingman community.
The Bedding Drive benefits Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit organization that provides beds for children who don’t have one of their own. KYAC is collecting new, unused twin-size bed sets, including sheets, pillows, comforters, and blankets.
The Coat & Hoodie Drive supports local youth by collecting new or gently used coats and hoodies of all sizes to help keep children warm through the winter months.
Running now through December 11, community members are encouraged to drop off donations at any of these listed locations:
• Lee Williams High School – 400 Grandview Avenue
• Kingman Academy High School – 3420 N. Burbank Street
• City Complex – 310 N. 4th Street
• Kingman Chamber of Commerce – 309 E. Beale Street
“As young leaders, we want to make a positive difference in our community,” said Clementine Wilcox, Chairwoman of KYAC. “Something as simple as a blanket or a warm coat can mean so much to someone who needs it. These drives are our way of giving back and showing that Kingman cares.”
The City of Kingman’s Youth Advisory Council is composed of local high school students who serve as the voice of Kingman’s youth in municipal government. The group works to promote civic engagement, leadership development, and community service among young residents by encouraging the next generation to take an active role in shaping their city’s future.
