Weapon, assault charges filed in domestic violence case

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Gregory Allen Hoefs, 27, of Lake Havasu City, for three counts of aggravated assault per domestic violence and disorderly conduct with a weapon per domestic violence, all felonies.

According to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies responded to a delayed domestic violence call on Friday, October18 where the victim stated that on the night prior, Hoefs had entered her hotel and placed his hand aroundher neck, choking her, while holding a knife to her stomach. Deputies observed bruises on the victim’s neck consistent with strangulation, and recovered the pocket knife described as being used. Hoefs was contacted at a job site in the 3400 block of Thunderbird Ln. Hoefs claimed he went to the hotel to talk to the victim about their child and did not provide any details about the incident.
