WACOG to host play day for seniors

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG), will be hosting a Reach Out and Play event with the seniors of our community. WACOG is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering communities through their various programs.

WACOG’s programs provide assistance for children, healthcare, housing support, and senior outreach. Next week, the organization will be partnering up with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), for their Reach Out and Play day created to enhance socialization for people of all ages through timeless board game playing.

AARP sponsors Ageless Innovation, the company that designs products for the elderly.  Next week’s games will feature nostalgic board games like Trivial Pursuit Generations, Scrabble Classic, and the Game of Life. This event is free to the public and it doesn’t matter what age you are to participate, so come join in on the fun!

Space is limited and reserving your spot can be done by visiting  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/reach-out-and-play-tickets-976818730117 or by emailing the event organizer at constancea@wacog.com. Reach Out and Play day will be on Wednesday, September 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

These activities were created as to improve the emotional and mental health not just for seniors, but for the community as well.
