Vogt charged in weapons offense, endangerment

KINGMAN – Robert John Vogt Jr., 44 of Golden Valley, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies on Sunday, June 14 for his alleged role in a shooting.

According to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, deputies responded to the area of Bank St. and Jagerson Ave. for a reported weapons offense, and were advised that Vogt had shot two rounds into his brother’s vehicle that he had collided with. The victim advised he had been parked in front of a friend’s house when he observed Vogt’s vehicle coming toward his at a high rate of speed. The victim advised he sped off in an attempt to get away from Vogt, however Vogt followed him. The victim stopped due to traffic and Vogt collided into the back of his vehicle, then fired two rounds into the victim’s vehicle. The victim was able to continue on and get away from Vogt.

Two female juveniles were inside the vehicle during the incident. One of the juveniles was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for minor injuries sustained during the collision.

Vogt was contacted by deputies a short time later in his vehicle, which had damages consistent with the victim’s allegations. A vehicle search revealed a .22 revolver, methamphetamine, and a

pipe. The bullet holes in the victim’s vehicle were consistent with the weapon located inside Vogt’s vehicle.

The rounds that penetrated the vehicle were located on the driver’s side and the middle of the vehicle, barely missing where the juvenile girls were seated. Vogt denied any involvement in the firing of the weapon.
