LAKE HAVASU CITY – Get into the bowling spirit of giving back with two amazing upcoming tournaments happening next weekend. Resource nonprofit Clothes Closet will be hosting their Bad Bowlers tournament this month followed by Havasu Lanes and Keglers Pub’s Fall Fun Fundraiser Tournament. Clothes Closet offers free clothing to individuals and families in need of assistance.
Their ongoing charitable events have helped the Havasu community with jobs, meals, and healthcare needs. Havasu Lanes has youth leagues where children can participate. The sport venue is affiliated with the United State Bowling Congress (USBC) for youths interested in learning the game, enhancing teamwork skills, and experiencing some friendly competition. Applications to join USBC can be accessed by visiting bowl.com.
Clothes Closet’s Bad Bowlers Tournament will be the second annual game for the charitable event. The tournament will have a 50/50 drawing. First place winners will win $400, second place will earn $250, and Clothes Closet will even have a special prize for third place winners.
Participation fees are $45 per person for six-person teams. Participation includes three rounds of bowling, shoes, and lunch. Deadline to enter is Friday, September 13, or until 32 teams are obtained. Entry forms can be picked up at Clothes Closet headquarters located at 1968 Mesquite Ave in Lake Havasu City.
Havasu Lanes Fall Fun Fundraiser is an event that the whole family can enjoy. Their tournament will have a $30 entry fee for adults and a $20 fee for youths. It is not required to be a league bowler to participate, and registrations can be done by making a stop at Havasu Lanes front desk. There will also be a 50/50 raffle drawing at this fundraiser as well. Clothes Closet’s second annual Bad Bowlers Tournament will be on Saturday, September 21 with 11 a.m. sign ins. Havasu Lanes Fall Fun Fundraiser Tournament will be on Sunday, September 22. Check in will be at noon and start times will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Both bowling tournaments will be taking place at Havasu Lanes and Keglers Pub. Proceeds of Clothes Closet’s Bad Bowlers Tournament will go to Clothes Closet, so they can continue to provide the needed resources and services.
