I have been part of a local Facebook group page titled the Birdland Crier. It used to be a great resource that was created by an individual that as his personal hobby, would post of local crimes or alerts that took place in our small city, all being recorded by his police scanner. It was a great connection to have since a majority of the post were events that we would never be told in the local paper, so this way we would know what really is happening within Kingman.
With this being said, sadly, greed has taken a toll. The group is now mostly covered with unreadable post, unless you pay a fee to subscribe. The reasons: he wanted to buy a drone to hover over areas where a crime has been reported or a vehicle wreck. Who wants a drone hovering over our heads when we have been a victim of a crime, or after an accident? This is absurd.
It’s sad when greed takes over, something that used to be a hobby that benefited many people locally, but now is asking people to pay money for his hobby or else they won’t have access. The group that used to be free, was open to help the community to give insight of things that we should be aware of, instead of opening out our purses and wallet. This isn’t a rich area, as many people are struggling and so many locals are asking for assistance and handouts so stop with the greed. This was your hobby that you started as a free thing to help us all that live in Kingman. Listening to police scanners are free, as that’s where he is getting his news feed to pass along. Facebook groups are free, as I am also an administrator and I don’t ask anyone for money. I’m not greedy for a dollar from other people. So stop asking people to pay you money now for things that you do for free. If you want a “drone”, you can find temporary employment at a local staffing company and buy it yourself instead of depending on others. Stop with the greed.

Not only that but anytime you have a difference of opinion your bullied in the comments by others as well as by them and also blocked. But he let’s other people attack others and call others names for having a difference of opinion than them. I unfollowed and unsubscribed. I do not need more negativity or hate in my life. There’s already enough of that in the world without adding to it.
