Local auto dealership tips police to alleged identity thief

KINGMAN – Michael Scott Andrews, 61, of Nevada, was arrested and charged with felony forgery, fraudulent schemes, and identity theft in Kingman. According to a Kingman Police Department (KPD) spokesperson, Andrews drew attention to himself while attempting to purchase a vehicle at a Kingman automotive dealership. When staff at the dealership notified KPD regarding Andrews’ suspicious activity, it was discovered that the identity and banking information provided by Andrews actually belonged to another person living in Henderson, Nev., and that several other accounts had been opened in the victim’s name, all in the Kingman area.
