LHCPD awarded Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $27,819.00 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations and to purchase five (5) directional radar units. This will be for the 2021-2022 federal fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1, 2021, to Sept. 30, 2022. This Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, or S.T.E.P., grant will provide the Lake Havasu City Police Department the ability to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities with the use of the directional radar devices.  The goal…
