The more color, the better: Downtown mural gets a touchup

KINGMAN – One of Kingman’s most predominant and colorful murals got a touchup thanks to a dedicated artist and supportive community.

Kingman Main Street (KMS) brought artist and sculpturer Kirk Seese back to town to throw a new layer of color and protection on his mural originally painted on the southside wall of Beale Street Theater in 2018.

The 1,800 square foot mural was completed as the first phase of the City of Kingman’s Interactive Mural Program and partnered with the Kingman Center for the Arts (KCA) as part of the Art Alley Mural project.

LWHS Renaissance Fair Helps the Students Shine

KINGMAN – Fairies, sword fights, Shakespeare and baked treats.

Lee Williams High School stagecraft students, with the leadership of their teacher, Paula Pickett, put on an inaugural ‘Lee Ol Renaissance Faire’ Friday.

More than 50 students, teachers, parents and other spectators set up camp in the school’s grassy common area adjacent to the cafeteria to show off months of building sets and rehearsing acts as part of a fundraiser for the drama and stagecraft classes.

7th Annual Monsoon Madness 5K

KINGMAN – The 7th Annual Monsoon Madness 5K run will be held Saturday, Sept. 7. The run is a fundraiser for the Lee Williams and Kingman High Schools’ cross-country programs. Monies raised from the event will go toward entry fees, uniforms, equipment, and transportation costs.
