Art Guild hosts Holiday Shoppe

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Havasu Art Guild will be spreading their artistic holiday cheer once more this weekend at their annual Holiday Shoppe event.  Formed in 1978, the art guild’s mission is to encourage the community and individuals to develop an interest in the creative arts and crafts.  

The nonprofit continuously supports the endeavors of local artists by showcasing their work at community events. The organization maintains that you don’t have to be an artist to join the club, as they welcome everyone wanting to explore their creative side.

Lake Havasu celebrates Thanksgiving

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Two Lake Havasu organizations got all geared up for the upcoming Thanksgiving season. Living Word Church hosted their annual Community Thanksgiving service while the Dementia Connection of Havasu, had a Thanksgiving gathering for the elderly. 

Living Word’s Words Community Thanksgiving Service took place on Wednesday, November 20th at 6:30pm and Dementia Connection of Lake Havasu’s holiday event was on Thursday, November 21 at 10 a.m. at Mount Olive Church.

Havasu man wins annual wildlife photo contest

PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Department is excited to announce the winners of its annual wildlife photo contest.

The 12 winning photographs are included in the full-size 2025 wildlife calendar that is published in the November-December 2024 issue of Arizona Wildlife Views magazine. Subscriptions ordered through Dec. 31, 2024, will receive the calendar issue, while supplies last, and also get free issue(s) added to the order. New Cancer Care Resource hosts first charity fashion show

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Cancer Care Resource launched their first New Beginnings Fashion Show fundraiser of the year last week. The cancer awareness nonprofit’s fashion show took place on Wednesday, November 13 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the London Bridge Convention Center.  

Formally affiliated with the Havasu Community Health Foundation, Cancer Care Resource now operates under the Heidi Edwards Cooking for Cancer Foundation. The Cooking for Cancer foundation was founded by Edwards, a cancer patient who came up with the unique idea to start a cancer nonprofit using cuisine themed fundraisers.
