Havasu Pioneers remember Hussongs’ historic nightlife

LAKE HAVASU CITY – If you put yourself in a time machine in Lake Havasu City dating back to about 45 years ago, the town may look a little unrecognizable to the newer residents. Rather than making a stop at the Aquatic Center for a swim, the lake was the swimming pool and aside from the bowling alley, the drive-in movie theater, and having only one video arcade, there really was not much of a nightlife. It wasn’t until the opening of the historically famous restaurant bar and nightclub, Hussongs, that residents finally had something to look forward to on the weekends.

WACOG to host play day for seniors

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG), will be hosting a Reach Out and Play event with the seniors of our community. WACOG is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering communities through their various programs.

Feely competes in NCAA Fall Athletics

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Omare Feely of Lake Havasu City, is a member of the NCAA Division III football team at Albright College this fall. A gradaute of Lake Havasu High School, Feely is studying Sociology: Criminology at Albright.

More than a third of Albright students participate on one of the college’s varsity sports teams, including cross country, field hockey, football, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball in the fall. The red and white Albright Lions are part of the historic Division III, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC).

Vintage tea parties hosted by London Bridge Resort

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu’s London Bridge Resort has all sorts of unique ongoing events and activities scheduled to kick up for the fall season. The resort holds classes where people can make their own custom western styled hat, take a tour bus to the Oatman, or simply attend their weekly tea parties.  

The resort held their first Afternoon Tea party of the month on Wednesday, September 11 at 3 p.m. inside the venue’s Sunset Room. Hosted by the resort’s own “Director of Fun” Joelle Dickinson
