MEADVIEW – A Meadview man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend following an early morning collision in the community south of Lake Mead. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded at 1:36 a.m. Friday, July 28 to the incident in the area of Driftwood Dr. and Boathouse Dr.
Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said it was determined a go-kart type vehicle operated by John Stettler, 40, had struck a quad operated by Sally Minard, 32, also of Meadview. She said the severely injured Minard died following flight to a Las Vegas hospital.
“During the investigation, it was determined that the collision was a criminal act, and not just a vehicle collision,” Mortensen said. “The two people involved were in a prior relationship.”
Mortensen said Stettler was booked into the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman and that the deadly collision remains under investigation.
