Schools surplus equipment sale open to the public

BULLHEAD CITY – If one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, surplus supplies in the Bullhead City School District may be someone’s gold mine. The district will be launching a series of ongoing warehouse sales on August 15 and 29, plus September 12, with more to follow.

The first three will be held in the former kindergarten building for Mountain View School, located at the southeast corner of Optimum Way (Third Street) and Lee Avenue. Cash-only purchases are available between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Buyers must remove items at that time; nothing will be held for later pick-up.

Everything will be sold as-is. Certain items are outdated, and some may not be fully functioning but can be used for parts. Those supplies and equipment initially on sale will include bookshelves, cafeteria tables with bench seats, chain link fence, sports field line striping machine, file cabinets, food steamers, food warmers, salad bar stations, student chairs (sold in packs of five) and student desks. Future sale items will vary.

Under state law, proceeds from the sales will go into a specific account for comparable replacement items. Additional information is available at 928-758-3961, x-1000, or surplus@bcsd15.org.

An itemized list cannot be provided over the phone. Future surplus equipment sales will occur on a regular basis, although district officials expect the location to change.
