RV fire fatal for BHC man

BULLHEAD CITY – A fire fatality is under investigation in Bullhead City. Fire Department Public Information Officer Lori Viles said personnel responded at 12:38 a.m. on Jan. 16 to the fire at the River City RV Park at 2225 Merrill Ave.

“Upon arrival, crews reported a fully involved Class A motorhome,” Vile said. She said a female occupant of the RV self-evacuated and was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center.

“Sadly, the female’s husband was not able to escape the blaze and was found deceased inside the RV,” Viles said. His name is initially withheld and the Red Cross was contacted for possible assistance.

Investigators located a portable, electric heater that appeared to cause the fire. Viles said the Bullhead City Fire Department encourages everyone to keep heating devices at least three feet away from anything that can burn.
