BULLHEAD CITY – Last Saturday brought out one of the many October events that Bullhead City abounds with when the weather begins to get a little nicer. The annual Risk Reduction Safety Fair was hosted at Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse where all the various emergency and safety agencies of the city, state and other groups and organizations all had their various equipment on display for the public to come and view while personnel were on hand to both explain how they work, allow members of the public to look them over and get tips on safety and risk reduction, and also participate in mock ups of emergency situations to make them more aware of how to maintain safety is emergency situations

On hand Saturday were Bullhead City Fire Department, Bullhead City Police Department, The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Arizona State Gang Task Force, MCC EMS Students, Bullhead City 911 Operators, Life Flight, and many more.

The event ran from 8 a.m. until noon and brought in hundreds of city and regional citizens who came out to view the many various displays.

Kids were treated to some unique chances to participate in emergency actions  such as learning how to climb out windows in a fire, donning Fire Equipment and learning to carry fire hoses how to scale a fire escape ladder, how to make an emergency call to 911, as well as face painting booths, raffles and prizes and refreshments.

The event drew in as many kids as adults and was a great success for both a fun outing as well as a learning event to teach them skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
