Response to Don Heck (Abortion vs. Birth Control)

Dear Editor,

Your question was what are you missing when it comes to Abortion Vs. Birth control. Let me answer that question for you after I ask you a question. What is more traumatic to a 10- to 15-year-old child who has been raped and is then impregnated? An abortion or forcing that child to carry that baby to term and then receiving a C-section to give birth to that baby?

Now let me answer your question. I am a woman who has had five pregnancies and four children because one of them failed. I also did get pregnant every time whilst on birth control.

Truth is birth control is not a fix all to not getting pregnant. And the idea that abortions are being used as a type of birth control is absurd. Women typically come to a clinic to get an abortion because they have a health issue or they were raped.

Women don’t want to have to put themselves through the grueling pain of abortion. Like I said before I went through a failed pregnancy so I know firsthand what it feels like to go through that pain and sadness. I always have found it comical how men will comment on abortion, pregnancy, and birth control almost as if they have experienced it themselves.

Let’s talk about birth control. Birth control is a chemical women take to alter their bodies so that they do not get pregnant. Being on birth control as a young girl caused me to get diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) which puts me at a higher risk of infertility (I don’t need it now), cancer, and excessive weight gain. Birth control did that to me. And does it to many other women.

How many male birth control medications do you see to alter men’s sperm count? You do not.

So to really answer your question why can’t men take precautions and or keep their man tools in their pants? Why can’t men stop raping little girls and women? Why can’t men just let women have the choice to do what to do with their own bodies?

Men don’t understand how a women’s reproductive system works and that is biology. Let women decide what is best for their lives without the laws all over their bodies. There are zero laws in the U.S. that prohibit a man from making his own choice about his body. Equality should encompass the same for women.

  1. What about girls & women choice for Prolife….yes rape is horrorible…if a child does be conceive help them thru the trauma 🤔….give the baby up for adoption….

  2. Amen, sister!! You said it! Old men in government should NOT have the right to tell women what they can do with their bodies!!! 😜
