Plea agreement reached for sex offender

Johnathan Proenneke

KINGMAN – A previously convicted sex offender has accepted a plea agreement in a new case. Johnathan Proenneke, 38, Kingman, entered a plea agreement during a May 21 hearing before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle.

Proenneke is convicted of failing to comply with terms of sex offender registration protocols because he did not notify authorities that he changed residences in Dec., 2023. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Amanda Claerhout told the Court that Proenneke engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl at least twice last Dec.

Terms of the deal require Judge Carlisle to impose a 5.5-year prison term at a June 26 sentencing hearing.
