Pay raise for BHC council, mayor

BULLHEAD CITY – The current Bullhead City council has approved pay raises for the council members and mayors who replace them in the future. Mayor Tom Brady said pay for elected officials hasn’t been adjusted in Bullhead City since 2006.

Pay for council members will increase to $11,486 from $9,000 a year and to $16,500 from $13,000. City Manager Toby Cotter noted the increases will still put Bullhead City behind Lake Havasu City where the future mayors will be paid $19,650 per year and council members $12,456.

Mayor Tom Brady said elected officials don’t serve for the money. He said the compensation helps reimburse them for fuel and charitable donation expenditures commonly associated with the council and mayor positions.
