MCSO awarded GOHS grant

MOHAVE COUNTY – Sheriff Doug Schuster is pleased to announce that the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has received funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase an all-terrain side-by-side vehicle. The chosen ATV, a Polaris General XP 1000, will be purchased for $29,126.32, using the awarded grant funds made possible by the passing of Proposition 207. The ATV will be utilized for multiple purposes throughout Mohave County. effects of its history as a leading employer of local youth, which has proven to be a net benefit for the employees, the organization, and the whole community.  “This past summer, we had 68 youth ages 14-18 working various positions,” said Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter. “The average summer earnings amongst youth employees were $5,600. Colorado Belle announces possible permanent closure

Accordintg to a post from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Colorado Belle, an iconic hotel-casino on the Colorado River in Laughlin, will stay closed for the foreseeable future and lay off its 400 workers. Casino operator Golden Entertainment Inc. said closures to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in March and uncertainty about the return of the market led to the decision. Jamison receives nine years with plea agreement

Probation violations and new criminal cases resolved through a single plea agreement result in a nine year prison term for a Bullhead City woman. Lisa Marie Jamison, 39, was sentenced Friday, May 24, by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle. Jamison was placed on probation in December, 2015 after pleading guilty to four counts of child abuse by for endangering children who had access to four weapons and ammunition inside a Bullhead City apartment. Jamison was arrested on a failure to appear warrant when contacted in September, 2018. Police reportedly seized usable amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana, and some drug…
