KINGMAN – The One Stop Careers Center has been closed at the Mohave County Administration building in downtown Kingman where public access has already been heavily restricted to help prevent spread of the COVID-19 virus. One Stop Operator Jason Millin said the Careers Center began rolling its workshops and other services into an online delivery format last week, but that Community Services Director Dave Wolf decided to shut the division down on a temporary basis.
While unemployment offices are flooded with people filing claims, Millin said customer traffic at One Stop has recently slowed. He said he believes it’s because those losing jobs are seeking compensation immediately, while many others weighing career starts or changes are taking things slower, given economic uncertainty.
Citizens needing help can still reach One Stop by phone and email (928-753-0723 or Jason.Millin@Mohavecounty.us). He said many may turn to One Stop for career guidance once the pandemic subsides.
I hope when this is all over we can get back on track, get back to normal and get people back to work,” Millin said.
