Officer stabbed, another punched in BHC

BULLHEAD CITY – One Bullhead City police officer was stabbed in the thigh and another was punched by a suspect at a home in the 1900 block of Artesia Drive. The officers responded at about 8 p.m. on Dec. 11 after a man reported his daughter, Vanessa Jacquez, 39, was aggressive and out of control.

“She was extremely uncooperative and combative,” said public information officer Emily Fromelt. “The officer who was stabbed was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center by ambulance.”

Fromelt said he was released after receiving four stitches. She said Jacquez suffers mental health issues, had recently been released from a facility and had not been taking her medication before she was involved in an incoherent argument with her father.

Jacquez was arrested, transported to Kingman and booked into Adult Detention for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct charges.
