Nonprofits to host Back to School Fairs

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At just the blink of an eye, it will be time for the youths of Lake Havasu to return to school. Local nonprofits Clothes Closet and Havasu Health Foundation will both be hosting Back to School Fairs to get parents and children all geared up for yet another academic year.

Clothes Closet is well known throughout the Lake Havasu community for their charitable donations. The nonprofit assists anybody in need of resources, and free clothing.

For almost 15 years, Clothes Closet has provided their services to victims of domestic violence, veterans, the homeless, foster children and foster families in need. They partner up with other nonprofits along with hospitals, churches, and even schools, to help them in their community efforts.  Learning about Clothes Closet and accessing their contact information can be done by visiting clothesclosetlhc.org.

The Havasu Health Foundation is another prominent organization of the community. With their ongoing programs like diabetes support, dementia connection, and cancer association, the nonprofit is passionate about raising healthcare awareness on a daily basis. Their continuous fundraisers have helped and educated the Lake Havasu community for several years. Discover more about the health foundation’s amazing programs by visiting havasucommunityhealthfoundation.org.

Clothes Closet’s Back to School Care Fair will be offering free products to kick off the upcoming school year. This year’s fair will have careers training, job listings, haircuts, free clothes and plenty of other family resources. The Havasu Health Foundation’s 17th annual Back to School Health Fair will be providing information on ensuring that students are up to date on all healthcare requirements needed to attend school. The fair will have hearing and vision screenings, dental exams, sports physicals, immunizations, and much more. There will also be free breakfast, games, prizes, face paintings, and Havasu’s Bearcat provided by our local police department.

Clothes Closet’s Back to School Care Fair will be on Saturday, July 20 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Clothes Closet. The Health Foundation’s Back to School Health Fair is going to be taking place on Saturday, July 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Aquatic Center. The two fairs will be free to the public. Both nonprofits are well equipped to make sure families and students have a positive and safe return to school.
