No injuries in LHC house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, multiple neighbors in the area of Gold Dust Drive and Gold Dust Circle reported a fire after the occupant discovered smoke and fire near their fireplace, and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported heavy fire through the roof and defensive fire conditions.

Five engine companies, one truck company, two battalion chiefs, and a division chief responded to and gained control of the fire within one hour, with no reported injuries. A second alarm was called to bring in resources to handle additional calls in the city during the time of the house fire. This included Desert Hills Fire District who responded to several calls in the city. CERT responded to the fire to assist with rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on scene Thursday morning until about 9:30 a.m. conducting overhaul operations and managing smoldering hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
