Murals honoring vets, Rotary Park improvements discussed at LHC council

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The city’s Parks and Recreations will be providing Rotary Park improvements and proposed park improvements. The plan will include ballfield dugout improvements, a ramada, ballfield lighting upgrades, swing set, and an island ballfield park playground.
The VFW shared a special announcement at the meeting. A project that originally started out as a cleanup plan, will be transformed as a mural at London Bridge Road to honor veterans all over the world. All veterans are welcome to have their names engraved in the tile.
There will be two murals: a large one and a ‘Stairway to Heaven’ themed one which will depict a soldier leaving this earth and moving on to the next life. This mural is also intended to honor fallen veterans.
Murals are free to all Goldstar Mothers. A park bench will follow for those that wish to sit, remember, and reflect. Additionally, a slab will be added that will identify all 108 wars. The city will enter an agreement with Pioneer Earthmovers Inc., for the repaving of the Grand Isle Park Path which will be part of the Island Path Repave Project that will connect the grand island park path to the three and a half mile loop.
