MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College Physical Therapy Assistant class of 2020 passed the national board exam on their first attempt.
The college PTA school is ranked 26 out of 350 programs nationwide by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, and graduates also had a 100% passing rate in 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016.
“We are excited for our graduates in passing the national board exam with their first attempt, and we are proud of our team of instructors that have dedicated their time to guide the students through the process,” said Elizabeth Briere, Director of Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Physical Therapy Assistants play an important role with patient care and are a valued member of the healthcare team of movement and rehabilitation specialists. They work under a licensed physical therapist and are directly involved in the care of patients who have movement disorders following an injury or illness.
Physical Therapist Assistants can work in many environments and in multiple specialty areas such as neurologic, orthopedic, cardiac and pulmonary, sports medicine, geriatric and women’s health.
