MCC invites the community to region’s first-ever student housing ribbon cutting ceremony

BULLHEAD CITY — Mohave Community College (MCC) is proud to announce the grand opening of northwestern Arizona’s first-ever college student housing on its Bullhead City campus. The community is invited to celebrate this historic occasion at a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on July 31 at 7:30 a.m., with an open house from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Students are also allowed to begin moving into the newly built Mohave Village Apartments that day, marking a significant milestone for MCC and the region.

The Mohave Village Apartments will be home to up to 58 students, and each unit features full size bathrooms, full kitchens, washer and dryer and a large living room. The 16,500 square foot complex also includes common area study spaces, landscaped courtyards, residence life office, onsite residence life staff and space for future infrastructure expansions.

The College broke ground on the Mohave Village Apartments last September. The initiative to build on campus apartments was driven by student requests, Facilities Master Plan research results, community support and athletic program logistics.

Extensive surveys and multiple meetings were conducted, including a highly publicized public meeting where the City of Bullhead City announced a resolution in support of student housing at MCC. The project was approved by the MCC Board of Governors in May 2023.

MCC selected Kinney Construction Services, Inc. as the Design-Build Contractor, working with Todd & Associates, Inc. as the project architect.

It’s designed to complement the surroundings and the Bullhead City Campus, and it can be seen from highway 95, on the west side of the campus.  More information about the new student housing can be found online at MohaveVillage.com.

At the Ribbon Cutting light refreshments will be served and a tour of a standard apartment unit will be available. Please RSVP for the event at Mohave.edu/mcc-ribbon-cutting-invitation
