Interior of courtroom

BULLHEAD CITY — The 7-year prison term prescribed for the man who fired on a Bullhead City police patrol vehicle was imposed during a Wednesday sentencing hearing at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman.

Valentin Pablo, 21, Bullhead City was convicted of aggravated assault in a plea agreement resolving his case.

Police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment complex at about 4:21 p.m. last December 24. Several rounds of gunfire emanated from the apartment complex as the police unit arrived on scene and parked.

The officer was not struck by gunfire, but Deputy Mohave County attorney Bob Moon said three shots pierced the patrol unit, one of them through the windshield.

Police said Pablo exited an apartment and surrendered without incident minutes after firing the rounds. Sentence was imposed by Judge Doug Camacho.
