Local arrested for Alleged Sexual Relations with minor

Steve Culajay

A Kingman man has been arrested for alleged sexual relations with a local teenager. Steve Culajay, 37, was arrested on May 22 and jailed for sexual conduct with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said a 17-year-old girl came forward with allegations earlier this month. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the teen told authorities she engaged in an unlawful sexual relationship with a friend of the family for the past 2-3 years.

“Detectives served a search warrant on a residence in the 3400 block of Apache St. on May 16 to collect evidence,” Mortensen said. “The Sheriff’s Office believes there may be more minor victims involved with Culajay, and we’re asking anyone with information about the suspect to contact our Detective Division at 928-753-0753, ext. 4288.”
