Lathrop takes plea in drug sale case

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A prison sentence is prescribed for a Lake Havasu City drug dealer who entered a plea agreement at the Mohave County courthouse in Kingman. Robert Lathrop, 59, Lake Havasu, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of dangerous drugs for sale and misconduct involving weapons.

Prosecutor Jonathan Robinson said police officers executed a Dec. 1, 2020 stop of the vehicle Lathrop was driving in the 600 block of N. Lake Havasu Ave. The deputy Mohave County Attorney told Judge Doug Camacho that a search of the vehicle netted seizure of 16 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and materials used to package drugs.

Robinson also told the Court that previous criminal history prohibited Lathrop from possessing firearms and that a .22-caliber rifle was found in his vehicle. Robinson said Lathrop admitted to police that he sold anywhere from “a few ounces a week up to a pound at a time.”

Lathrop faces a 5–10-year prison term when sentenced Feb. 24.
