Police Sergeant Kyle Ridgway said Ryne Nelson, 18, was arrested without incident following a 7:42 p.m., Nov. 20 traffic stop in the area of Sweetwater Avenue and Acoma Boulevard South.

Police said Nelson was involved in a robbery-related altercation during which his firearm reportedly discharged. Non-life-threatening injuries were reportedly suffered by two victims, one from the altercation and the other from bullet and pavement related shrapnel to a lower extremity.

Nelson was jailed for attempted murder, armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, endangerment, disorderly conduct with a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, weapons misconduct and an unrelated warrant for probation violation.
