KSS Taco Bell wins first tourney of the season

KSS Taco Bell, a Kingman-based traveling senior softball team, won its first tournament of the year at Rotary Park in Bullhead City over the weekend. The Kingman Senior Softball (KSS) squad won all five games to claim the 60 AAA division at the annual Top Gun Winter Classic.

KSS opened with an 18-16 defeat of the Jokers from California, followed by a 14-13 win over the Boys of Summerlin from Nevada on Friday. KSS won its first bracket game with a lopsided win over Tucson-based Hammertime 18-1.

KSS beat the California based Weekend Warriors twice on Saturday; 15-10 and 14-13 in the championship game. The title game was tied in the bottom of the 7th inning when Dan Bellini of Kingman produced the game winning hit, scoring Richard Riley from second base for the championship.

Bellini was named tournament MVP with the winning hit, four homeruns and leading KSS in batting average at .867.
