KINGMAN – A five-year prison term has been ordered in a Kingman man’s child pornography case. The punishment imposed Tuesday for Matthew Walker, 35, was mandated in the plea agreement convicting him of two counts reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.
Seven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor were dismissed in the plea deal.
Deputy Kingman police chief Joel Freed said local investigation began after the local agency received word of suspicious activity from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children involving Walker last summer.
Freed said a warrant-based search of Walker’s home in the 4000 block of Gordon Lane was conducted on October 9, 2024. He said detectives seized a cell phone, laptop computer, desktop computer, Amazon Fire tablet and a Nintendo Switch component.
16 child porn video files were reportedly discovered during the forensic examinations of those devices.
Defense attorney Paul Amman said Walker is committed to bettering himself for life after prison. “\He wants to eat, sleep and work,” Amman said.
Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle ordered that Walker will serve 20 years’ probation upon his release.
