Installation of a Second Left-Hand Turn Lane on N. Yavapai Street

KINGMAN, Ariz. – The City of Kingman will be working to update lane striping in the areas of Airway Avenue, N. Yavapai Street, and N. Diamond Street on Friday, January 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The focus of this project is to create a second left-hand turn lane off of N. Yavapai Street onto Airway Ave. During this time there will be travel delays due to intermittent lane restrictions.

Crews will only occupy one lane, and in most areas, drivers will be able to drive around striping vehicles. However, we ask drivers to use caution around crews. The city recommends drivers not drive through newly applied paint but depending on temperatures, paint can dry within about 30 seconds. The schedule will be dictated by wind and traffic, therefore an exact map and location of crews during striping is unavailable.

The City of Kingman urges motorists to pay extra attention while driving in and around work zones and maintenance vehicles and encourages the importance of maintaining safe and smart driving habits during the construction season, and at all times, when operating a motor vehicle. The contact for the City of Kingman is Shane Shilstone at 928-757-7467.
