Injured hiker rescued at SARA Park

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City Fire department personnel rescued an injured hiker at S.A.R.A. Park on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Crews responded at noon to a report that the woman suffered a broken leg required assistance to return to the trailhead.
Officials said the injured party was located within an hour.
“Onsite medical treatment was provided before she was transported to a designated landing zone, as the rugged terrain made evacuation difficult,” a news release said. “The Mohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team assisted fire crews with extrication efforts, enabling the hiker’s safe transfer to the landing zone.”
The victim was reportedly airlifted to the hospital by medical helicopter for further evaluation and treatment.
