Homicide in north Kingman under investigation

KINGMAN – A shooting death early Monday, May 4 in north Kingman is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Deputies responded at 4:47 a.m. to a report that multiple gunshots were fired in the vicinity of a home in the 900 block of John Norman Ln.

“Deputies arrived on scene and observed a male subject deceased in the roadway with three gunshot wounds to the head, neck, and face,” said sheriff’s spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. “A shotgun and three spent shotgun shells were located near the victim’s body.”

Mortensen said deputies observed Christopher Robin Kacos, 33 of Kingman, on the property.

“Kacos admitted his involvement in the shooting and was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility for felony 2nd Degree Murder,” Mortensen said. “The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.”

Mortensen said it is believed that the shooting occurred outside the home. She declined to say how the suspect and victim are acquainted and whether either, or both, lived in the residence.
