A former Bullhead City resident who roughed up his girlfriend last month will be placed on supervised probation through a plea agreement entered March 14 at the Mohave County Courthouse in Kingman. Nicholas Alfonso Heredia, 32, can still be ordered to serve up to one year in the county jail when he is sentenced next month.
Bullhead City police said Heredia’s live-in girlfriend sustained a serious injury to her face when a Feb. 18 argument escalated into an altercation in the 1700 block of Highway 95. “He knocked her to the ground and started choking her from behind, leaving abrasions on her neck,’’ prosecutor Morgan Sands said at the change of plea hearing.
Two aggravated assault charges are being dismissed in exchange for Heredia’s conviction to one count of aggravated assault by domestic violence. How much, if any, additional jail time Heredia might receive will be determined by Judge Billy Sipe at an April 19 sentencing hearing.
Heredia informed the Court that he has relocated from Bullhead City and that he would live at his mother’s residence in Fort Mohave once he is released on probation.
