Grant will be used to rehabilitate Kingman airport

Congressman Paul A. Gosar D.D.S. has announced the U.S. Department of Transportation’s winners of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants:

“I am pleased to report that the Kingman Municipal Airport as well Prescott Regional Airport were the recipients of AIP grants, a much-needed infusion for rehabilitation and construction. These airports are key drivers of our economy in Arizona’s fourth congressional district, and this additional funding will allow them to expand, modernize, and continue operations vital to our community,” said Gosar.

“This is an exciting time! It will replace our main runway to help develop transportation loading and multimodal transportation logistics. It is an important piece of infrastructure that will help keep Kingman competitive,” said City of Kingman Mayor Jen Miles.

“The robust economy is enabling more passengers to travel by air so this Administration is investing billions of dollars in America’s airports which will address safer operations, fewer airport delays, and greater ease of travel for air travelers,” said Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao.

The Kingman Municipal Airport has been awarded $2.3 million under the Airport Improvement Program. The airport has a deep history rooted in training Army Air Force aerial gunners in World War II. Today, the airport has two active runways for commercial and business use and also services aircrafts with a top of the line repair station. Additionally, the airport houses an 1,100-acre industrial park which is home to over 70 businesses. This grant will be used to rehabilitate the existing runaways to ensure continual success.
