KINGMAN – A Fort Mohave man has admitted guilt in downloading child pornography and for using surveillance cameras to record women using a bathroom in his home. A plea agreement for Travis Richmond, 38, was entered at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman on Thursday, February 20.
Deputy Mohave County Attorney Karolina Czaplinska said a cyber-tip led to a December, 2024 search at the residence of Travis Richmond, 38. She said a search of his residence on Easy Street prompted seizure of electronic devices and discovery of hundreds of digital files of children engaged in various sexual activity.
Czaplinska said one item of seized evidence was proof of a $150 payment to secure 79 giga bites, some 5,300 files of child pornography. She said authorities found cameras used to record video of women using a bathroom during a party at Richmond’s home in May, 2023.
The prosecutor said investigators were able to identify two women who are victims of the privacy invasion. She said they were present during the change of plea proceeding, and in agreement with its terms.
Richmond faced well more than 100 years in prison if convicted of all charges in a 17-count indictment. Most of those charges are dismissed in the deal that convicts him of sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of surreptitious videotaping.
Mohave County Superior Court judge Derek Carlisle scheduled a March 19 sentencing hearing. Richmond could get up to 22 years in prison and he’ll serve lifetime probation upon his release.
