Ft. Mohave man killed in car crash

MOHAVE VALLEY – A Fort Mohave man was fatally injured in a single vehicle traffic accident in Mohave Valley, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Deputies responded to the area of S. Dike Road and E. King Street at about 5:04 p.m. on Friday, October 31.

They discovered a seriously injured man where a vehicle collided with a fence. The driver, Michael Trent Hughes, 62, died of his injuries following transport to a Las Vegas hospital.

“The investigation into the collision revealed that Hughes failed to yield at the posted stop sign,” MCSO public information specialist Anita Mortensen said. “Speed also appears to be a factor in this incident.”

The investigation continues.
