Dear Editor,
Forgive and forget is an idiom that suggests even after letting go of any form of anger, bitterness, resentment, and or disappointment, the ability to forget can be contrary to our human nature.
In 2025, Kingman finds itself becoming a homogeneous group of people, a small melting pot of humanity. The Common Kingman Citizen may have heard some whispers about (excuse me if I say it), the good old boys and girls club that controls everything in Kingman, including the uncontrolled growth being partially financed on the back of the Kingman taxpayer, and with an ongoing dwindling voter opportunity.
The “CONTROL” group in Kingman has become woven into Kingman’s fabric, and the people are seeing the dangers and hazards ahead. am not suggesting criminal activity, but I owe it to the dignity of the average citizen to say that your best interests, NOW and in the FUTURE, are at great jeopardy if we do not vote out all incumbents in this new election cycle which has already begun.
My name is Elliot Chalew. I was a first-time and unknown candidate for City Council in 2023 and now again seek to be your voice on the city council in 2026. I have spent two years amplifying the voice of the people, via print newspapers and all-over social media, clearly establishing the need to repair the broken link of communication between the common man and the city leaders. I come with no strings except my allegiance to the people’s will. I am proud to have come to know so many of you along the way. All the problematic issues in Kingman have remained the same, only worsened in the last few years. The time is overdue to put YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE first, before tourists and before that of the special interests who have always controlled the city of Kingman and its people.
I understand the challenges and the issues that Kingman residents must currently endure. Just to mention one issue, not being addressed is the severe lack of medical care and providers.
I am a level-headed, soft-spoken resident of Kingman. It is easy to see that the control people in Kingman have always relied on people being able to forget all past offenses. While I am a tolerant man and forgive, I don’t waste time and energy with anger, but I can’t FORGET that the majority of people’s best immediate or future interests are not being addressed but rather routinely ignored, unrecognized, or evaded.
Please fill out the simple nomination form in the link. I believe you understand I need your support to become the “voice of Kingman’s majority” on YOUR city council.
