BULLHEAD CITY – Opening ceremonies for the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse have been temporarily delayed so that contractors and subcontractors can complete several outstanding projects.
New dates for the public ribbon cutting and a separate reception for sponsors will be chosen shortly to avoid conflicting with other community events already scheduled, according to officials with the Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD). CORE Construction is building the Fieldhouse for CRUHSD.
“We’ve worked very hard with our partners and the community for the Fieldhouse to be a showcase,” said CRUHSD governing board president Lori Crampton. “The work that remains to be done is, overall, a small portion of the project.”
Remaining items include state inspection of the elevator and final installation and testing of the fire suppression systems.
Systems testing and training for CRUHSD employees for other parts of the Fieldhouse, such as the scoreboard and the interlocking artificial turf cover, will continue without interruption while CORE and its subcontractors continue their work. The ceremonial delay will not affect any pending school athletic or graduation events nor add any project costs.
