Fair housing, airport improvements discussed at LHC council

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu council members passed a motion for funding for the Mohave County Site 6 pier replacement project in the amount of 1.6 million. Site 6 is one of the most popular locations for fishing and other lake activities.

Future updates and plans for our city’s commercial airport were shared. The airport has many plans in the works such as completing their designs to improve runway safety areas, design taxi way constructions, plans for their south end hangar airport developments, and much more. The city entered an agreement with the Arizona Community Foundation to adopt fair housing policies for equal opportunity housing rights.

This adoption is intended for housing rights for people regardless of disabilities, age, race, and financial status. The foundation is now accepting applications for homeowners through their Home Occupied Rehabilitation Program, they are also currently accepting general contractors for assistance.

Parks and recreations is still renovating Querio Park on Querio Dr. and McCulloch Blvd in our downtown area. It will be transformed into an area for community events.

The new park will have shading, a stage, and a promenade walkway. Parks and Recreations are reaching out to the community for name ideas.

Not only will the winner of this go down in history for naming the park, they will also receive a prize from the Parks and Recreation Department.
